Dr. Sang Dae Kim, of Korea University, formally took over the Chairmanship of the Council in October 2009. The focus of Professor Kim's plan for the Council is the expansion of CTBUH's presence in Asia and revitalizing the Council's academic programs and activities.

Dr. Sang Dae Kim is a professor of Dept. of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at Korea University. He is also POSCO Steel Chair Professor, which was founded to promote structural steel’s research in construction by POSCO.
