이 연구는 브리즈 솔레이가 르 코르뷔지에의 건축에서 착상되어 형태 및 공간적으로 발전되는 과정을 살피고 및 그 유형을 분석함으로써 그 의미를 명확히 하며 또한 유효한 건축언어로서 프랑스의 네오 코르뷔지안 건축가들에 의해 계승되는 경로 및 유형간의 관계성을 파악하여 앞으로 건축에서의 적용 가능성을 살피고 있다. 연구를 통해 브리즈 솔레이가 발코니형, 수평날형, 수평/직각수직판형, 수평/수직판 자유구성형, 수평/경사수직판형, 선형격자형등으로 나뉘고 있음을 보이고 건축가와 건축유형에 따른 사용경향을 확인하고 있다.

본 연구에서는 유닛모듈러 건축물의 설계품질 향상의 일환으로 유닛모듈러 건축물의 공장제작 및 현장시공 등의 각 단계에서 발생하는 문제점을 도출하고, 그 원인을 비교-분석함으로써 유닛모듈러 건축물의 기본설계 등 설계 초기 단계에서 고려해야 할 주요 검토 항목(체크리스트)을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

유닛모듈러 공법과 RC공법과의 차이점, 건식화공법 적용, 공장제작과 현장작업의 구분 등을 주안점으로 하여 문제점으로 도출.
그리고 도출된 문제점들에 대해서 크게 공법적 측면인지 혹은 설계적 측면의 문제인지를 분류하고, 세부 유형을 분류하였다.
